Monofloral Honeys of "Tamarindo" and "Atamisqui"; and the possibility to produce monofloral honey of "Algarrobo" and "Alpataco" - Original work - M.C. Wingenroth, Dr. Presentation of the Editor: Under the title “The Honeys of Asunción”, one of the most important conclusions in the outlined work is presented by Mónica Cristina Wingenroth, Dr. She demonstrates that "Algarrobo", "Tamarindo" and "Atamisqui" monofloral honeys it's possible to crop. Beekeepers with a lot of experience thought that it was impossible to diversify the productions of our natural forest, for the supposed interference that would exist between the mentioned blossoms and others of smaller importance in the area described in this work. The conclusions of this original work that we publish, open horizons more than interesting for all the beekeepers that work, during great part of the season, in natural forest areas. Following the sequence of the blossoms, certain just as we have outlined it in the methodology described in previous editions, the beekeeper has a fundamental tool to give value added to his production. THE HONEYS OF ASUNCION, (32º33'21"S - 68°14'45"W), LAVALLE, MENDOZA, VEGETABLE ORIGIN AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Mónica Cristina Wingenroth In the three honeys selected by the beekeeper in Asunción, Lavalle (Mendoza - Argentina), the species were identified and the pollen percentage of each one was determined; also a control method for the selection of the same ones was intended. The number of individuals was also obtained in 10g. of each one of the selected honeys, as well as the residual in the same ones. Simultaneously it was identified the melliferous flora of the Asunción area, as well as the vegetable species more visited by Apis mellifera L. To top Dumping: Preliminary sanction
On May the preliminary sanction of the USA Department of Commerce (DOC), against Honey importing from Argentina, was known officially. The companies (ACA and Radix) they were sanctioned with percentages among 50 to 60%, to what 6,55% should be added as sanction by presumed subsidies from the Argentinean Government to the producers. The not sanctioned companies will pay a tariff average of those mentioned. |
Api-Expo Río Cuarto 2001: Reflection of the Argentine Beekeeping
The "9th Fair and Beekeeping Meeting of the Center of the Republic" it had a number of visitors above the expectations of most of the exhibitors. More than 1700 beekeepers became present mainly to participate of the programmed pedagogic activities.
We present an article of the Dr. Carlos Kaplun to beginning in the reflection on a fundamental topic that we think it is the base to solve the organization of the beekeeping sector in Argentina. Specific properties of each honey The biochemical Griselda Jullier de Cerda works in the Laboratory of Instrumental Physics, of the Bromatology Direction of Santa Fe province and she is in charge of the chromatographics technics that are carried out in this laboratory. Besides their habitual tasks, inherent to the specific activity of the laboratory, it develops different investigation projects, for those that doesn't receive complementary economic compensation some, in order to determine the quality of the honeys. Among those projects she worked doing a protocol to determine adulteration of honeys with Corn Syrup of High Fructose. At the present time she is working doing an incipient floral and pollen map of Santa Fe province and she is also advancing in the determination of amino acids presence in different honeys, what would constitute a way toward the differentiation of the therapeutic properties of each honey. To top Determination of the Hygienic Behavior of Bees - Original Article - J.A. Marcangeli, Dr. The rehearsals to check the hygienic behavior of the bees have been the Queenbees breeders' matter, almost exclusively, for many years. Today, the necessity to maintain the sanity of our beehives, forces to all of us to know which those methods are. The article of the Dr. Jorge Marcangeli and his wife María del Carmen García, illustrates us about how to carry out a control and it confirms, before some outlined doubts, the validity of the traditional described method.
